Easy Clown Makeup
Today, we’re doing something a little different—and a little dramatic. It’s a clown-inspired look, but not the creepy kind. This one’s actually cute, a little edgy, and really fun to wear. Think graphic liner, exaggerated shapes, bold lips, and all the Halloween glam vibes. And yes—it’s beginner-friendly.
If you’ve been thinking about trying easy clown makeup for a costume or just something creative, this look has everything: bold color, big lashes, and a cool twist on traditional clown makeup that still feels wearable.
Here’s how it comes together, step by step.
Skin Prep & Foundation

We’re starting with the Too Faced Hangover Primer—it’s my first time using it, but I already love how hydrating it feels on the skin.
Then I’m going in with my usual Anastasia Beverly Hills foundation in Cool Beige, but this time I’m mixing it with Good Eco Stream Serum to make it look a bit more dewy and blended. I like the way it softens the foundation and makes it easier to apply.
Blending it all in with a Real Techniques Beauty Blender gives a nice, even finish. The base is already looking fresh and smooth—perfect for this easy clown makeup look.
Brighten It Up with Concealer
Next, I’m using Urban Decay Concealer in Light Warm under the eyes. I’ve used this one before and I love the coverage.
Just blending that in with the same beauty sponge—it lifts the under-eye area really well, which is important for a look that’s going to be this dramatic. We want brightness in the center of the face.
Baking and Bronzing
Now I’m baking with Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. I’m putting that under my eyes, on my chin, and a little bit on my forehead. This is one of those steps that really locks things in and keeps the look together.
For bronzer, I’m using Too Faced in Medium to sculpt the cheekbones and forehead. I’m also baking underneath the cheekbones to give everything a sharper, cleaner look.
At this point, the base is looking really good—soft, sculpted, and ready for the fun part.
Eyeshadow: Bold and Beautiful

We’re going for a glam take on easy clown makeup, so the eyes are where things get dramatic.
I’m starting with Love Letter from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette and blending that into the crease as my transition shade.
Then I’m layering Talk to Me from the Too Faced Peach Palette to deepen the crease. It adds more definition and drama, which I love.
For the outer corners, I’m using Hot Fudge from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette to really define the outer V of the eyes.
And for the lid, I’m applying White Peach using my finger—because honestly, fingers just work better for shimmer shades. It gives that soft spotlight effect without needing glitter.
The Liner: Dramatic and Graphic
This is where the look starts to really become clown-inspired. I’m doing a bold wing using Eyeko Liquid Eyeliner, but I wasn’t super impressed with how dark it came out—so I layered it with Sigma Eyeliner on top to make it darker and sharper.
The shape is bold and exaggerated—definitely not an everyday cat eye. It’s long and graphic, but still super clean.
Lashes and Lower Lash Line
I’m using Huda Beauty Lashes in Scarlet for this look. They’re big, fluffy, and dramatic—perfect for the top-heavy lash look I’m going for.
Then I’m taking Sigma Gel Liner and adding it to the lower lash line for more depth. It really anchors the eye and gives it that intense feel without closing the eyes off.
I’m also adding a generous amount of Maybelline Mascara to the bottom lashes—this is kind of essential for the clown look. You want that heavy lower lash definition.
The Clown Lines
Now for the fun part! I’m drawing in the clown shapes:
- Two upside-down arches above the brows
- Two curved lines beneath the eyes
It’s a very classic clown layout, but the lines are sharp, not smudgy or messy. This is what really transforms it from “Halloween glam” into actual easy clown makeup, and it’s surprisingly quick to do.
Lips: A Statement Red with a Twist
For the lips, I’m using Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Vintage and just following my natural lip shape. Then I’m going in with Huda Beauty’s Trophy Wife in the center to create an ombré effect. It adds dimension and gives a slightly exaggerated look that really works with the clown theme.
I also drew out the corners a bit to make the shape more clown-like—but still cute, not creepy.
The Nose (But Make It Minimal)
Instead of a big red nose, I kept it minimal and chic. I used the same Eyeko Eyeliner to draw a small circle on the tip of the nose, then added a little white highlight dot on the side with a Halloween face paint palette I found at the drugstore.
It’s subtle, but it brings the whole look together. That tiny white dot adds a little pop and makes it feel finished.
Easy Clown Makeup: Final Thoughts
This easy clown makeup look is so much fun—and honestly, it’s not hard to do. You don’t need special tools or face paint. Just your regular glam kit, some creativity, and a steady hand.
From the bold liner to the ombré lips and that little dotted clown nose, it’s dramatic without being over the top. Perfect for Halloween, a party, or just trying something new.
And the best part? It’s actually wearable. In a weirdly cute, super bold kind of way.
